It's been near to a year since I've updated this.
I haven't had much to say, honestly. The end of last year got busy, as it does every year for me in the October to December stretch. In the beginning of this year, I adopted a kitten. This brings my total cat count up to four. It also means I've been unable to stitch for months, because the little one is just too hyper and goes after both threads and fabrics -- a very bad thing when you're working with expensive linens and silks. So everything is packed away for now, waiting for a time when I can get him to sleep for long enough stretches to sneak some stitching in.
I haven't been completely idle. I've been teaching myself to digitally color, with mixed results. Unfortunately, it's far from being good enough to post here -- with time and practice maybe.
And that's all there is to say, really. Time to go crawl back into the woodwork.
Recently completed and/or worked on:
Decepticon Pattern: Having materials and kitten issues. Just keep crossing your fingers for me.
The Mighty Samurai</i>: I barely got this one started before having to put away the floorstand on account of the kitten. This poor Samurai will just keep waiting.
Pending:</u>
Plushies: Going to make a plushie or two, just to see if I can. I've had the desire recently not only to sew, but to sew in small-scale. I'd love one of those ball-jointed dolls to make clothes for, but there's no way I could afford one (and, plushies have the advantage of being more cuddly!).
The Tempest Project: I've started Tempest #2 (of a planned 4). The color theme is green, and I've ordered some Whisper (specialty "fuzzy" floss) to play around with as well.
Cat With Attitude</i>: my "waiting room" project for when I take my Grandma to the doctor. This is the third of four similarly-themed plastic canvas projects.
Wings of the Spring Garden</i>: features butterflies, birds and flowers...eventually I'll work on this stamped quilt top. Maybe when I finish my Tempest's I'll try to devote the occasional night to it.

Devious Journal Entry
Yes, I've practically dropped off the face of the planet. Yes, it's because I've been hugely busy and/or overwhelmed with life crap. No, I don't want to talk about it. Yes, everything's ok, I promise.
The only point of this update, really, is to show you a bit of what I do, art-wise. Not too long, ago, Kenouni-Renashin (https://www.deviantart.com/kenouni-renashin) approached me about making a pattern for something she wanted to stitch for a friend. Ok, I like a challenge, so I said yes. Well, she's finished the piece, and I'm duly impressed.
This is the image from which I made the pattern:

Late Reminder
This is a late reminder to tell you that bidding for the Artisan Crafts Silent Auction ends this Sunday, the 17th. If you want me to stitch up your portrait, you'd better hurry up and bid!
I will not be entering the stitchingpirates (https://www.deviantart.com/stitchingpirates) contest this time around: everything I sit down to design spirals out into something huge, and I just don't have the time to do a large piece. I'm feeling a slump in general: I've got writer's block as well as embroidery block, it seems.
I've got the urge to sew as well, but it seems that the time and the energy refuse to converge into a singular instance. It is, as you can well imagine, highly frustrati

I really have nothing to update, other than to say that bidding has started for the items in the Artisan Crafts Silent Auction to benefit the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Pop over to the gallery and see the great crafts being offered: there's some really cool stuff.
In other news, I'm never giving you guys a "promise by" date again. Gah! Tutorial's been delayed to being busy with just life over here. The good news is that it's written: I just need to stitch and photograph the model piece(s). Find me an uninterrupted four hours to do so and we'll be set.
In other other news, if anyone out there does (or wants to take a crack at) Legend
Waiting for #3...
You know how bad things supposedly happen in threes? Well, I'm waiting for the third.
The first: this weekend my boyfriend attempted to wrap his sports car around a telephone pole. He wasn't driving recklessly or anything, but he hit a wet spot, skidded off the road, and once the car was on wet grass it was all over. He's fine, thankfully, but the car's totaled. He hit the pole with the back end of the car; we're lucky the gas tank didn't rupture. Currently it's in the driveway - we're probably going to part it out, since the engine and all are still good, though it depends too on what the insurance company wants to do.
The second: my
