This little guy was stitched with DMC cotton embroidery floss on 14-count light green Aida from Charles Craft (which is so close to dA green that it's almost scary). Finished size is 1 5/8 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches tall. Total stitching time was 3.25 hours, almost all of which was done while in the Artisan Crafts chatroom on June 9th.
Design-wise this piece was directly adapted from the "glomp" emoticon. I sought to re-create that last frame with both the little guys smiling. Only full cross stitch is used in this design, so it's really quite simple. The shaded effect was achieved by blending the floss in the needle, going from light, to a light-medium blend, to medium, to a medium-dark blend, etc.
The back side of this piece can be seen here: [link]

I'd like to thank `hprince329, who designed the glomp emoticon, as it's my favorite dA emoticon. (I'd also like to thank *TastyOne, who found out the designer for me!)
If there is interest, I may post the pattern for this little guy.
It was cute, and a fun break from the more complicated stuff

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
