Your Portrait For Charity

The fight against Breast Cancer is a cause very near and dear to my heart, as I've had friends and relatives who've battled the disease (some successfully, some not). So, when I read that the Artisan Crafts community was going to hold a Silent Auction [link] to support the cause, I knew I had to push aside some of my current projects to participate.

So, I'm opening up my designing talent to you! What you're bidding on is a cross-stitched portrait, custom-designed and hand-stitched by me. Two examples are shown in the picture above.

I will do a total of three of these.

How it works:
At the end of the auction, I get in touch with you and ask you for design specifications. Then, I do up the pattern preview on my computer and send you the file. You specify any changes that may need to be made. When you've given me the ok, I start stitching.

Important Note:
Your portrait's pose won't deviate from the examples shown, merely because I don't have the time to customize my base too much. As it is, I commonly run 10-12 hours designing the clothing/hair/etc., and another 30-35 hours for the stitching. While the deviation image shows female portraits, I am capable of designing a male portrait as well.

Shipping:
I package my needlework very carefully! It'll be washed and ironed, then encased in a cardstock envelope (to keep it clean). That envelope is placed between layers of cardboard or foamcore (to keep it from being bent). The whole thing is packaged in a bubble-wrap mailing envelope and sent off to you. Shipping cost depends on where you live.
