Final Fantasy Magnets - 1

Black Mage

This is just a simple little piece I designed for my boyfriend's refrigerator. I took the pixel art from the video game Final Fantasy and made it into a cross stitch pattern, one stitch per pixel. The colors were matched to DMC cotton in my stash. Black Mage was worked up on 14-count clear perforated plastic. He took 2.5 hours to make on February 27, 2007.

Chocobo

Another favorite from the Final Fantasy games, and everyone's favorite mode of transport. The Chocobo pattern was made in the same was as Black Mage. He was stitched in 2 hours on March 17, 2007 (Black Mage took longer, even though he was simpler, because I was doing laundry at the same time).

Both magnets were finished by adhering them to sticky-back felt, then cutting the plastic to shape. I used super glue to attach each piece to a magnetic clip that I got at Staples (it was I think $1.50 for a package of two; I bought several packages to make more magnets).

Colors are a little washed out in this photo...the flash kept bouncing funny on the fridge door. Edit, January 2008: I've recently gotten a new digital camera so picture will be updated when I take a batter one (i.e., no washed-out refrigerator glare).
