Devious Journal Entry

Mon Aug 17, 2009, 4:12 PM
It's been near to a year since I've updated this.

I haven't had much to say, honestly. The end of last year got busy, as it does every year for me in the October to December stretch. In the beginning of this year, I adopted a kitten. This brings my total cat count up to four. It also means I've been unable to stitch for months, because the little one is just too hyper and goes after both threads and fabrics -- a very bad thing when you're working with expensive linens and silks. So everything is packed away for now, waiting for a time when I can get him to sleep for long enough stretches to sneak some stitching in.

I haven't been completely idle. I've been teaching myself to digitally color, with mixed results. Unfortunately, it's far from being good enough to post here -- with time and practice maybe.

And that's all there is to say, really. Time to go crawl back into the woodwork.

Recently completed and/or worked on:

Decepticon Pattern: Having materials and kitten issues. Just keep crossing your fingers for me.

The Mighty Samurai: I barely got this one started before having to put away the floorstand on account of the kitten. This poor Samurai will just keep waiting.

Pending:

Plushies: Going to make a plushie or two, just to see if I can. I've had the desire recently not only to sew, but to sew in small-scale. I'd love one of those ball-jointed dolls to make clothes for, but there's no way I could afford one (and, plushies have the advantage of being more cuddly!).

The Tempest Project: I've started Tempest #2 (of a planned 4). The color theme is green, and I've ordered some Whisper (specialty "fuzzy" floss) to play around with as well.

Cat With Attitude: my "waiting room" project for when I take my Grandma to the doctor. This is the third of four similarly-themed plastic canvas projects.

Wings of the Spring Garden: features butterflies, birds and flowers...eventually I'll work on this stamped quilt top. Maybe when I finish my Tempest's I'll try to devote the occasional night to it.

See also...

Dance for the Cure: Committed to the prevention and cure of breast cancer through the Celebration of Dance!

My Stitching Overview: Some of my stitching idiosyncrasies! (Eventually to be turned into some kind of tutorial.)

#ArtisanCrafts: The official AC chatroom, and the place I try to hang out when I'm online.

Hey there, I noticed that you like cross stitching. I made a website for anime/video game/nerdy patterns. I was wondering if you want to join our community or donate some of your patterns to the site so people who can’t make their own patterns can enjoy something they love to. Let me know if your interested ^-^

You can PM me or email me at: deejaybeta16@gmail.com

Hey, I am currently doing your Autobot for my husband for father's day and was wondering if there was anyway to get your Decepticon. I'm sure I can't get it done by then but I think he'd like it even if it was late. Thanks!!
:iconcrafty-manx:
The Decepticon pattern still isn't finished, unfortunately; I've had a near-impossible time finding the time to sit and work on it. When the pattern is finalized it will be posted here, but I don't know when that will be at this point in time.
